      Organization of fire safety during welding work is a necessary and important preventive task.

      The main hazardous factors during welding work are:

      • sparks and drops of molten metal
      • burns of the skin and organs of vision due to radiating energy from an electric arc and splashes of molten metal
      • impact on the human body of gases, vapors and dust released during welding.

      As a thermal insulation, SuperSilika provides permanent protection in extreme conditions up to 1200°C with minimal loss of insulating properties.

      Properties of SuperSilika material:

      • Withstands contact with molten metal;
      • Compatible with most chemicals;
      • Repeated use during heat shifts;
      • Has high electrical resistance;
      • Does not contain binders and does not emit smoke-forming substances;
      • Safe to breathe/

      SuperSilika material is recommended for use as fireproof insulation of welding stations in workshops and for mobile local work.

      One of the main technological processes in the installation of pipelines and high-pressure vessels in the gas, oil, oil refining and energy industries is welding and heat treatment of welded joints, aimed at reducing the level of residual stresses, improving the structure, heat resistance, cold resistance, and corrosion resistance of welded joints.

      SuperSilika material is used by installation and repair organizations as an innovative and environmentally friendly replacement for asbestos and ceramic materials for thermal insulation during heating. Experience with the use of SuperSilika in local heat treatment of welded joints of pipelines and high-pressure vessels has shown multiple insulation effectiveness. When carrying out all types of heat treatment, including stabilizing annealing and austenitization, the thermal insulating properties of the material allow SuperSilika to be used for more than 20 thermal cycles with heating up to 1200 °C.

      SuperSilika material was used in the construction of the Blue Stream gas pipeline along the bottom of the Black Sea between Russia and Turkey, oil refineries in the cities of Perm, Ufa, Ukhta, Yaroslavl - in the heat treatment of welded joints of pipelines made of various grades of steel, as well as in the manufacture of casing equipment with wall thickness up to 150 mm.
